The President has delivered his State of the Union Address. It reminded me of the famous prayer of St. Augustine, who said, “Lord, make me chaste, but not yet.” The President told us that government’s deficit spending needed to curbed, but not yet. Then he commented that he was exercising good budgeting. For those of us who do NOT have someone else’s pocket at out disposal, the first rule of good budgeting is to refrain from spending money we don’t have. This is the year when we need to remind Mr. Obama and his Washington allies that our pockets are no longer at his disposal.
